Duluth, GA – September 16, 2020 – Heat Transfer Products Group, LLC (HTPG), manufacturer of commercial refrigeration equipment sold under the recognized brands of Russell, Witt, Kramer and ColdZone, announces the release of its new Medium Profile, Heavy Duty and Warehouse Unit Coolers. The models are optionally available as EcoNet® Enabled Unit Coolers. The unit coolers were designed with efficiency, performance and serviceability for medium, large and warehouse walk-in coolers and freezers.
The Medium Profile, Heavy Duty and Warehouse Unit Coolers add increased capacity and versatility to HTPG’s award-winning EcoNet Enabled Unit Cooler portfolio. For maximum performance, all units are circuited for multiple refrigerants and feature optimized circuit patterns, enhanced surface coil tubing, and new high efficiency fan and venturi designs. For increased effectiveness, heavy duty aluminum fans are balanced to provide vibration-free operation, and fan sections are baffled to prevent short cycling of the discharge air.
Accessibility features on all models include rail-mount motors, easily removable fan guards and modular fan panels, face mount electric defrost heaters, pre-drilled mounting holes, and shipping pallets designed for product safety and to facilitate quicker installation. A separate compartment is provided for all refrigerant connections which allows ample room for internal mounting of expansion valves. Heaters are installed inside the hinged drain pan for fast, reliable drainage and easy access. Fixed defrost termination, fan delay and heater safety controls are factory mounted for optimum performance of each control function. All models are UL/cUL certified for use with multiple refrigerants, NSF approved for use in food preparation areas, and are available with air, electric or hot gas defrost.
“These new unit coolers stand out from the competition in performance and in service features. A lot of thought went into the development of these new models for efficiency and to make the contractor’s job easier,” said Paul Westbrook, HTPG’s director of sales and marketing. “Our engineering team incorporated the features our customers and contractors most wanted and added the ability for the units to be energy-efficient EcoNet Enabled Unit Coolers,” he continued.
Medium Profile and Heavy Duty Unit Coolers were designed in anticipation of the July 2020 Department of Energy Annual Walk-in Energy Factor (AWEF) regulations for evaporators for Walk-in Coolers and Freezers in boxes less than 3,000 sq. ft. The unit coolers feature rail-mounted, energy-efficient Dual Speed Electronically Commutated (EC) motors which are compliant with California Title 24 regulations. Medium Profile units have an air flow range spanning 2,090 to 9,580 CFM, 24” fan blades and are available in one through three fan models. Heavy Duty unit coolers have an air flow spanning 5,750 to 24,000 CFM, 30” fan blades, and are available in one through four fan models. Models provide a complete refrigeration solution for medium to large walk-ins when used with HTPG’s award-winning Next-Gen ½ to 6 HP condensing units or Next-Gen II 3 to 20 HP condensing units.
Warehouse Unit Coolers were designed exclusively for cold storage applications for walk-in coolers and freezers 3,000 sq. ft. and larger. In addition to the features previously mentioned, the models also feature rail-mounted three-phase motors with standard or high-static pressure prop fan blades, an air flow spanning 6,875 to 27,500 CFM, 30” fan blades, and are available in one through four fan models. Models provide a complete refrigeration solution for large walk-ins when used with HTPG’s Next-Gen II 3 to 20 HP condensing units.
Optional features for all models include EcoNet Enabled Controller, EcoNet Command Center, mechanical or electric thermostat, thermostatic expansion valve, electronic expansion valve, liquid line solenoid valve, insulated drain pan, heat exchanger, coated coil, coated cabinet, and more. Heavy Duty and Warehouse models are also available with reverse connections.
The award-winning EcoNet Enabled Controller and EcoNet Command Center bring easy-to-use smart technology to commercial refrigeration applications. The optional factory-installed EcoNet Controller gives customers a higher level of efficiency and more control of their walk-in units for greater energy savings. The EcoNet technology saves energy in refrigeration systems through precise superheat and space temperature control, fan cycling, and controlling how often the system goes into defrost based on compressor runtime. The EcoNet Controller is shipped from the factory with the controller board already installed and all sensors and relays wired. The controller replaces the TXV, liquid line solenoid valve, room thermostat, time clock, and defrost termination and fan delay. Parameters are pre-selected to match equipment which saves installation time as well.
Adding the optional EcoNet Command Center allows for EcoNet Enabled Unit Coolers to be programmed, monitored, and troubleshot outside of the space being cooled. This enables the user to get a true picture of the walk-in’s condition without entering the walk-in, and easily make any necessary corrections. One display is able to control up to 32 devices including the Command Center. The EcoNet Command Center includes everything in the box to quickly install the device on a wall outside of the walk-in. System set up is easy with the intuitive touchscreen installer settings.
Medium Profile, Heavy Duty and Warehouse models are available directly from the factory and finished goods warehouses across the country. For more information about HTPG’s family of commercial refrigeration solutions, visit www.htpg.com.
